The Company is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. This privacy policy explains how we use the information we collect about you, how you can contact us if you have a privacy issue and procedures that we have in place to safeguard your privacy.
Kinds of personal information the Company holds
The Company holds personal information in relation to the young people placed into its care by the government; and individuals who are recruited to care for those young people in their homes. The information collected will generally include name, address, gender, date of birth, details of health, personal and family social history, special learning or physical needs, contact details of managing professionals, records of meetings and assessments. The Company regards all such information as sensitive under the Privacy Act.
How the Company collects information
Personal information will be gathered from a variety of sources including (but not limited to) carers, other family members, health professionals, and government professionals. It shall be requested of information sources that wherever possible their information be evidentially based.
The purposes for which personal information will be used
During carer recruitment/review the Company collects extensive personal information to satisfy a panel of professionals that the individual is competent to care for young people. Similarly extensive information is collected for each young person to ensure an optimum match with a carer is achieved and maintained.
Other uses of information
Information is collect for use throughout the Company for management statistical purposes, or used externally to demonstrate outcomes. In both circumstances all information that would allow an individual to be identified is removed.
How the Company secures information
The Company will take all reasonable steps to ensure that information about a carer or young person is not misused, corrupted, lost or subject to unauthorised access. Electronic records will be stored on a secure server that routinely employs firewalls, encryption, passwords and other policies and procedures to ensure security of data storage. Physical records shall be kept in secure storage away from areas where unauthorised individuals have access.
Information shared with other organisations
Information will not be shared with other organisations unless the Company has a duty to disclose the matter by law; or the individual; or the carer, or the legal charge of the young person has given their permission to do so.
In the event that the Company is sold it may be required to disclose personal information that is material to the sale to a prospective purchaser. In such instances agents of the purchaser shall be required to adhere to a privacy agreement.

- feel the Company has breached its policy and you want to complain.
